J. M. Bramble

A full-stack developer, game designer, graphic artist, and former digital electronics professor, Jason Bramble has spent over 30 years in the tech industry as a technology consultant, working with some of the world’s largest Fortune 500 companies, government organizations, and celebrities. His expertise spans software architecture, game development, artificial intelligence, and user experience design, allowing him to blend technical innovation with creative vision. Jason’s career has been defined by his ability to merge technology with creativity, bringing imaginative ideas to life across various industries.

In 2020, Jason founded Gig Game Corp, a company focused on developing web-based social games that bring people together through play. Gig Game™ emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Jason saw a need for engaging, remote activities. His flagship product, Mobo Bingo, became a popular way for families and groups to connect virtually. Built on the proprietary GigGame Framework, Jason’s games emphasize community, creativity, and accessibility, bridging the gap between physical distance and social interaction.

Beyond game development, Jason is a passionate storyteller, drawing inspiration from Walt Disney, and other literary greats such as Bram Stoker, Neil Gaiman, Isaac Asimov, and Kurt Vonnegut. His favorite novel, Dracula, has greatly influenced his approach to blending psychological tension with supernatural elements. Jason’s work is also subtly shaped by his fascination with quantum physics and world mythologies, both of which help to infuse his narratives with deeper themes and a sense of wonder.

When it comes to his writing, Jason’s goal is for his books to read visually, almost like watching a movie. By focusing on vivid descriptions, dynamic pacing, and cinematic storytelling, he aims to create an immersive experience where readers can picture every scene as it unfolds. It is important to him that his stories are driven by character decisions and internal motivations, ensuring that his narratives feel authentic and grounded, while still delivering the suspense and emotional depth of a gripping film.

A strong believer in the potential of artificial intelligence, Jason integrates AI into both his development work and creative process. One unique method he uses in his writing is employing vocal AIs with emotional tones, like Eleven Labs, to read his novels back to him during editing. Hearing his work in another voice allows Jason to gauge pacing, detect narrative flaws, and refine the flow of his stories, ensuring they are as immersive and well-paced as possible.

In his debut novel, The Briar’s Veil, Jason reimagines the haunted house genre, focusing on a new, seemingly perfect home haunted by dark, unsettling secrets. This psychological horror delves into themes of fear, unchecked corporate greed, the exploitation of nature for profit, and how we accept these violations—and their consequences—in our every day lives even when we don’t witness them firsthand. At its core, the novel explores personal accountability and the mysterious, often unseen connections between people and the spaces they inhabit, crafting a haunting narrative that is both eerie and deeply relatable.

Jason resides in Orlando, Florida, where he continues to write, develop games, and explore the ever-evolving relationship between technology, storytelling, and the mysteries of the universe.

I’ve always been deeply inspired by Walt Disney and his ability to bring stories to life in such a magical way. Like Walt, I believe that everything has a story behind it, and storytelling is something I constantly strive for in my own work, whether in games or writing. Writing a novel has always been a dream of mine, and for years I’ve kept a folder on my desktop called ‘Stories,’ filled with unwritten concepts and outlines—ideas not just for standalone books, but for entire trilogies that I’ve always hoped to bring to life one day. The Briar’s Veil is my first step toward that dream—a litmus test I’m eager to learn from. While I’m grateful for those who love it (and I’m thrilled to hear you do), I’m even more eager to hear from those who don’t, because I believe in growing through my mistakes and becoming better with each step. After all, growth and learning are the heart of life’s journey, and it’s that pursuit of betterment that keeps the spark of creativity alive.
